Cam units for the lower die section are designed to transmit high side forces during cutting, forming, or punching. Compared to top-hung units, they are more rigidly mounted and allow higher load transfer while maintaining guiding stability.

Lower cam units are suitable for applications with high specific loads, long working strokes, or where maximum system stiffness is critical. The design typically includes robust guiding, replaceable sliding elements, and a precisely defined working angle.

Design priorities include correct load selection, guide length, lubrication concept or maintenance-free solution, and return mechanism control.
