Aerial cam units are intended for side operations in stamping dies where classic lower guiding cannot be used or is not suitable. The entire unit is suspended in the upper die and operates in synchronization with the press stroke.

This solution is particularly suitable for limited installation space, progressive dies, or applications where interference with the lower die section must be minimized. The structure must be sufficiently robust to transmit side forces without undesirable deformation or misalignment.

Key design parameters: cam working angle, specific load, guide length, return mechanism, and monitoring of guide-surface wear.
